Blue Holidays

Blue Holidays

I love this sketch that George Stefanski did of the VBS rocket ship in 2017. Well there’s been no blasting off in 2020.

What a lonely strange year it has been! March, April, and May took a year to pass themselves! So many of the gatherings we look forward to were cancelled to slow the spread of Covid-19 through the population. It was a long dry summer without weddings, parties and reunions, graduations and birthdays. Time seemed to stand still, and the days blurred together because they are too much the same. And now we face the Holiday season – with cancelled or altered celebrations and gatherings!

For some you know this is the loneliest time of the year. The holiday season is hard for those whose hearts are hurting. Difficult at best but with Covid 2020, those who are carrying pain or loss it is super super difficult.

BLUE HOLIDAYS is a survival guide for the holiday season. A contemplative service with gentle reminders to self-care, setting sensible boundaries and expectations. Our gathering will be Sunday night November 15th at 7:30pm will be led by Pastor Taylor and the 2020 confirmation class.
